Our History

Aurora Glow began with a small moment. One of those moments you don't realize that are going to change your life.

In 2016, during a snowy afternoon in Sweden, I took a candle-making class. I had just moved there and was learning how to live far from everything familiar. This simple class that I had joined to do something with my time and perhaps meet people, sparked a true passion.

I’ve spent much of the last decade living abroad, and along the way, I realized that scents became an anchor that grounded me. The smell of a warm kitchen, forest air, fresh flowers, these scents reminded me of people, moments and places. They anchored memories.

Candles also became a part of me in these 10 years, for a very practical reason: with so much moving and changing houses, it didn't make sense to buy a bunch of big meaningful furniture, or even a lot of decoration. But candles always made a home: small and cozy, they were the perfect item to warm up a rented appartment I was only going to live in for a few months.

Today, I live in Switzerland with my Swiss husband and our two daughters, hoping this is our forever home.

Moving here has been great, but it came with a new set of challenges: I had to walk away from my job and the job I went to university to learn (translation and interpreting) was virtually wiped out in 2024 due to AI. So that candle-making idea that sparked in 2016 finally started taking form. I never dared entertain the idea of launching a candle business. It seemed risky, uncertain and unpredictable, and I had a "proper" job.

Thankfully, life put me in this path and I couldn't be happier! Aurora Glow has allowed me to create beautiful pieces, to grow as a person and as a business owner and to develop a craft that is truly fullfilling.

And it has grown so quickly that what started as my small project, includes now my husband Benjamin who takes care of admin tasks that are very necessary in a growing company.

So Aurora Glow is now a family-run business.

Our Materials

At Aurora Glow, every candle begins with intention, crafted slowly, thoughtfully, and always with care for both people and the planet.

We use only high-quality, eco-conscious ingredients to create our candles:

100% natural soy wax: Our luxury soy wax is renewable, biodegradable, and free from paraffin and toxins. It burns cleaner and longer, producing less soot while offering a beautiful, even melt.

Premium fragrance oils: Our scents are carefully curated from high-quality, phthalate-free fragrance oils. All our fragances are either from Grasse (France) or Switzerland. They are free from CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction), phthalate and approved by IFRA safety standard.

Cotton and wooden wicks: We offer both lead-free unbleached cotton wicks and natural crackling wooden wicks, sustainably sourced and untreated. Wooden wicks bring a cozy ambiance and gentle sound, like a miniature fireplace in your home.

Natural dyes (when used): When color is added, we opt for gentle, non-toxic dyes that preserve the integrity of the wax and scent.
